Will I still feel things?

Stimulants alter the emotional centre.

When you start meds, you will still have feelings.

However, each feeling won’t overwhelm you physically and mentally.

You will be able to manage it.

So no more emotional peaks and troughs – no more highs and lows. And your life will have less choppy waters.

Some people with ADHD think they have cyclothymia or bipolar disorder when it is emotional dysregulation or difficulties containing emotions.

Some people do have depression, anxiety and its sometimes caused by ADHD. Sometimes people have Bipolar and also ADHD.

Some people have OCD and ADHD.

Treating ADHD reduces or helps to manage the other problems.

Too much stimulants and we feel nothing at all.

That is why I use non-stimulant drugs in addition, which act on the frontal lobes and don’t squash emotions.

The hard part, is having feelings that dont take over your body.

You now have time to listen to them. And that take some getting used to.

FEELINGS THAT YOU CONTROL

And not having peaks and troughs sometimes seems quite unexciting. Some people feel bored as they have always lived on the edge.

And that choice is entirely yours…there is no right way.

You are now in control

And that’s a new experience.

But you’ll be fine if you have an ADHD Coach or therapist

Your emotions are no longer a jumble.

No longer a jigsaw puzzle
